WIDEBODY SALEEN DARKHORSE MUSTANG.
If Ford collaborated with Saleen on a modern Dark Horse with a full widebody twist, should it look something like this?
This custom Ford Mustang Dark Horse concept blends classic Saleen-inspired styling with a modern widebody design, creating a look that feels aggressive without losing the Mustang’s identity. The render was created by adry53customs, who designed and modeled the project to help bring the vision to life before the real build begins.
A Modern Saleen-Inspired Dark Horse
Saleen styling has always carried a distinct attitude in the Mustang world. The sharp aero, the low stance, the visual width, and the motorsport-inspired personality all helped make Saleen Mustangs stand apart from the rest of the pack.

This concept takes that familiar inspiration and pushes it through the lens of the S650 Dark Horse platform. The result is a widebody Mustang that looks like it could roll straight onto a show floor, but still feels rooted in recognizable Mustang design.
The widened front and rear quarters, aggressive front fascia, deep front splitter, side skirts, side-exit exhaust, rear aero treatment, and deep-dish wheels all work together to create a much more extreme version of the Dark Horse.
Designed Before The First Part Is Built
According to adry53customs, this project was designed and modeled in 3ds Max. The goal was to transform a Ford Mustang Dark Horse into a special widebody build inspired by iconic Saleen styling, while giving it its own unique identity.
The designer also noted that no AI was used in the render process. This was a digital design exercise created to visualize the final direction before the physical build begins.
Headed Toward A SEMA Debut
What makes the project even more interesting is that it is not intended to stay only as a digital concept. The build is expected to head toward a SEMA debut, where the render could become a real-world widebody Dark Horse Mustang.
If the finished car stays close to the render, it should have no problem getting attention. The design has the kind of presence that works online, on the street, and under the lights of a major show floor.
Should Ford And Saleen Build Something Like This?
The bigger question is whether this is the kind of direction enthusiasts would want to see from a modern Saleen Mustang. It is not a simple throwback. It is more of a modern interpretation, mixing familiar Saleen attitude with the sharper, more aggressive body lines of the current-generation Mustang.
Would you keep the design exactly as shown, or would you change a few details before it becomes real?
