For some Mustang owners, building a high-horsepower street car means sacrificing everyday drivability. For Michael, that wasn’t part of the plan. His Whipple-supercharged 2019 Ford Mustang puts down an impressive 735 rear-wheel horsepower on 93-octane pump gas, and he isn’t afraid to drive it every day.
Under the hood sits a Gen 5 Stage 2 Whipple 3.0L supercharger, helping the Mustang produce 735 WHP on a Mainline hub dyno with tuning handled by Shoemaker.

Of course, making power is only part of the equation. Just a week after purchasing the car, Michael experienced a CDF drum failure in the factory 10R80 transmission. Rather than simply repairing it, he sent the transmission to Richardson for a Stage 2 build designed to handle whatever he plans to throw at it.
The supporting modifications include GForce axles, a DSS aluminum driveshaft, BMR differential brace, KelTrac Posi-Loc kit, and a VMS drag pack to help put that power to the pavement.

Having owned several turbocharged cars in the past, Michael wanted to find out what all the excitement surrounding Whipple superchargers was about.
“I’ve had a handful of turbo cars and wanted to see what the hype was with the Whipple kit, and I now see what it’s all about!”
-Michael
Despite the impressive power output and drag-oriented upgrades, this Mustang isn’t a garage queen or weekend-only toy. Michael daily drives it, enjoying everything from backroad pulls to less-than-ideal weather conditions.
And that’s what makes this build stand out. It’s a relatively straightforward combination that delivers serious horsepower without giving up the enjoyment of driving a Mustang every day.
735 WHP, pump gas, and driven daily. Sometimes, keeping it simple is the best recipe.
